Disclaimer
The condition of any paper is the responsibility of the author. No editorial actions have been taken on any papers. General instructions for formatting documents so that they convert to PDF accurately were provided for authors to follow, but the compiler of the collection has not examined the resulting files to check their completeness.
Content
This collection was compiled from the papers presented by AARE members registered for the AARE 2003 Conference - Auckland New Zealand 2003. Only papers submitted in electronic media are included. Many other papers were presented at the conference. The miss-match between the Abstracts listed in the Abstracts Book and the papers here is due to failure of some authors to submit their work for publication in this format.
Hardcopy Collection
AARE deposits in ACER Library, all hardcopies of papers submitted to the Conference Registration staff. The hardcopy collection is not equal to the list of Abstracts in the Abstracts Book or to the collection of papers on the CD. ACER Library includes all AARE conference papers it receives in the Australian Education Index.
Refereeing
All Abstracts were peer reviewed. In addition some authors requested that their full papers be refereed prior to presentation at the conference. Such papers are indicated by the symbol ® against the paper code in the Abstracts and in the Alphabetic index of papers.
Searching
Author searches or any other key word searching is available within the Abstracts file using an Internet web browser. Papers are distinct files either in html or pdf. Both to allow similar searching within papers and to facilitate users' preferences for file types, printing and so on.
Paper Codes
Paper codes comprise the first 3 letters of the family name of the first author of a paper followed by 2 digits "03" to designate the year of presentation and publication, followed by a 3 digit running number assigned by the conference organisers in order of receipt of the abstracts for presentation proposals, followed by the file type designation [htm or pdf].
