Call for Expressions of Interest: Executive Research Development Coordinator Casual Vacancy
Expression of interest to fill a vacancy for the remainder of the current term through to the AGM in 2024.
Background
The Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) Executive Committee is seeking to fill a casual vacancy for the portfolio position of Research Development Coordinator. The term of appointment will be to fulfil the current term through to the date of the 2024 Annual General Meeting.
The Research Development Coordinator will be a member of the Executive Committee responsible for managing the day-to-day affairs of the Association.
The composition of the Executive Committee and terms of office for the various positions are specified in the Association's Constitution. Please find a list of current Executive Committee members and their terms of office at the AARE Website. Executive Committee roles and responsibilities of AARE Executive members are based on the Constitution; the Associations Incorporation Act 1985 (SA) under which AARE is incorporated; policy and practice within AARE and role requirements as they apply generally within professional membership associations.
All Executive members must be current (financial) members of AARE and are expected to:
- attend Executive Committee meetings (three per year) and the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- act in pursuit of the goals of the Association
- participate in ad hoc committee activities, as appointed by the Executive
- provide reports on their areas of responsibility to Executive meetings, the AGM and the AARE Annual Report
- participate in an initial induction on first taking up their position
- provide induction for their successor, including a briefing (whether in person, by telephone or by electronic means) as well as handover of relevant documentation when vacating their position

Call for Expressions of Interest
The Executive Management Team is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from AARE members to be appointed to fill this Executive Committee vacancy.
EOIs should be submitted via the Expression of Interest form by 5pm Friday 29th September 2023.
The term of appointment will be to fill the current vacancy with eligibility for election to the following 3 year term in 2024. The appointment will be approved by the Executive Committee.
