This year’s National Reconciliation Week celebrates the 20th anniversary of the reconciliation walks across bridges and down roads where the Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples of this land now known as Australia came together showing their support for a more progressive society working towards reconciliation. The association offered the AARE Seminar Series in 2020 after having postponed the conference due to COVID-19. 

Conference Co-Chairs Dr Amanda Heffernan and A/Prof Stewart Riddle curated an exciting line-up of presenters. 

PurposeThe Springer Award for best paper published in The Australian Educational Researcher was inaugurated in 2011.

Selection processThe journal's editorial team chooses the best paper from those published in each calendar year, and the Award is presented at the AARE Annual Conference by the Springer Representative. The panel’s decision will be final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

Drawing on long-term case studies of four primary schools located in these communities, this book describes the difference between what is commonly practiced and those practices that have a greater chance of supporting young people's literacy learning.
