We hope you will celebrate with us. A Committee is currently planning activities throughout the year and they are keen to hear your ideas as well.
What can you do to get involved?
Contact Allyson Holbrook who is leading the 50th Anniversary Committee if you have ideas or want to help organising our celebrations.
We are still looking for old photos and documents

Did you know…
The first meeting to form AARE as an Association of Educational Researchers was held in Sydney (Newport) in November 1970.
There were 100 Founding Members of the Association (and we have a list of these). The Foundation members included Ray Debus who was an Associate Professor at the time at the University of Sydney, and Bill Radford who worked at ACER at the time. Both of these names would be familiar as they are recognised for their contribution to the Association with awards in their name.
The 1971 Conference was held at Broadbeach International Hotel at the Gold Coast on 5-7 November, and registration was $30. This included meals, revue, shared accommodation, registration and copies of the papers. Children under 3 were allowed to attend for free and other children at a cost of $15.
This 2021 conference will be in Adelaide and our theme is: Learning from the past: Looking to the future.
